Welcome to the Ioco United Church |

 Ioco United Church holds regular Worship Service at 9:45 am Sunday mornings and provides a Sunday School and Junior Leaders program for child and youth members that are held simultaneously with the Worship Service. Even though we are now part of a much larger community you can still come and experience a country church in the city where you will be welcomed, valued and make a difference to us.

 Ioco United Church, which is a designated heritage site, was built in the early 1900’s and has served the local community for over 80 years. The Village of Ioco came about when the Imperial Oil Company started an oil refinery along the banks of the Burrard Inlet. At first travel to the town site was by boat or on horse back. The company developed a town site for the employees at the refinery and buildings from the original townsite, including Ioco United Church still stand to this day.
Our congregational family at Ioco United is a welcoming and open congregation that is respectful of tradition and receptive to change, reflecting the feeling of a small community where each individual is important and special. We like to focus on the fellowship provided by each member and provide special attention to the children and youth of our congregation who inspire us by simply being who they are. |
